Virginia F. Arnoldson was one of the severeal childern affected by the Rockefeller Center Special Tree Incident and sent to a realm called Wonderland, and got sent to another universe after the events. |
In the Deanverse, Virginia Arnoldson learned of John D. Rockefeller's Special Tree that was going to be used in Rockefeller Plaza in 1934 Christmas tree. Virginia wanted to be the first person to hang an ornament on the tree. After she failed to reach the branches, she came up with an idea to put her star on the top using her friends. She gathered her friends to form a human ladder to let her get to the top. Once the star was placed on the top, the Special Tree started to bend over. As the kids fell, the special tree swapped the Deanverse and Nixonverse children. |
Before being teleported to the Nixonverse, Virginia appeared in an infinite field of special trees that she called Wonderland (after the book Alice In Wonderland, which her mother read to her as a child). There she met a tall, curly-haired man who she called Everett, who took care of her during her time in Wonderland. |
there were bright flashes of light every few moments, with each flash bringing them into a new position in wonderland. Virginia said that this kept happening for "what felt like 500 years." along the way, she met a man and named him Everett. The both of them stuck together between every single flash of light they came across, doing something different each flash. until one random day, all the trees bent, and a bright flash sent her to the Nixonverses New York. |
After visiting The Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, and her original and foster parents abandoned her, believeing she was a doppelgänger, she went to Rockefeller Plaza searching for answers and met the Special Tree in a humanoid form. The Tree knew that Virginia wanted to go back to her universe, so she told Virginia that she would need to exchange a life for her own, and to wait for 3 years. The tree gave her the same instructions when she came back 3 years later. |

Later Life |
After her second meeting with the Tree she was told to wait 3 years again. |
At the end of the final three year interval, she returned to the Tree again. She implanted directions in Virginia's mind, and Virginia followed them. Virginia walked for four days before arriving at the Washington Monument. When she arrived she heard "strange but calming music". The Monument opened and Virginia entered an elevator inside. When the elevator reached the top, the music got louder, paralyzing her. The elevator's floor then opened and Virginia fell to the ground. Upon landing, she left her body and started phasing through the Earth, before rising back up and re-entering her body. When she returned back to the Washington Monument, she discovered that her stomach was "flattened", and that the life she had exchanged for her own was Everett's. Remaining paralyzed, she was among 18 other individuals who were still alive and bleeding on the floor, but could not move. They would all collectively become known as the "Washington Absentees". One day the music suddenly stopped and a large strike of lightning woke up Virginia. She was carried into a helicopter and taken to a hospital. Upon arrival, she was informed the year was 2003 and told that everything she knew was wrong. She was then given a failed lobotomy to "fix her", after which she gave a recollection of her life. A second lobotomy was later performed and Virginia never spoke again. Later in her life, she made a series of paintings titled "The Right Life" where she depicted how she wanted her life to be. |
