Peggy Ann Freeman, better known as Luna, was the main antagonist of The Nixonverse spin-off series. She is the Lunarian Queen, the first of her kind, and the progenitress of all other Lunarians in existence. Luna was once an American supermodel called Donyale Luna who came to understand the meaning of true transcendental beauty through "Her Visions". She hoped to welcome all of humanity into her fold, and so when Apollo 11 landed on the moon in 1969, she happily welcomed the astronauts with a speech about beauty and love, only for Commander John Glenn to command fellow crewman Ed Dwight to shoot her on sight. Revolted, Luna channeled her powers and "Evicted" Glenn from reality, before departing from the scene.

Relationships

Crescent King

The Crescent King is perhaps the only individual Luna has ever shown genuine interest or affection towards. Furthermore, the Crescent King is one of the only people who she does not believe to be beneath her due to his legendary status and power.

The Last Son of Alcatraz

It is heavily implied Luna sent her troops to defeat the Last Son to have him submit to her. Luna had never once held any sort of affection or sentiment towards the Last Son, and had no interest of him.

D Day Knight

Luna appeared to respect the Knight's abilities. However, in reality she was only seeing him as another pawn.

Synopsis

When the United States sends Apollo 11 to the Moon, carrying astronauts Ed Dwight, Michael Collins, and John Glenn, Luna is the first of the Lunarians that they meet. She greets them and delivers a monologue about beauty and an upcoming great division. John Collins immediately orders her shot afterwards. It is unknown the effect that the shot had upon Luna, however, she promptly used a device that evicted him from reality in the span of 63 seconds. Very little else is known about the encounter, although there are multiple surviving photos of her from her encounter with Ed Dwight. They became the possession of Alice Avenue, who had tried to burn them. Eventually they were uncovered by her granddaughter, Molly Avenue.

An unknown amount of time after her encounter with the Apollo 11 mission, Apollo 12 was sent and successfully killed a Lunarian for their eye. This, alongside their encounter with Apollo 11, presumably were the reasons the Lunarians chose to invade. It is unknown what Luna's involvement was, although it can be assumed she sponsored it as their queen.

Alcatraz Checkpoint

After gaining control of the Last Son of Alcatraz by forcibly transforming him into the Crescent King, the Lunarians successfully nearly destroyed human language and began an indoctrination campaign. This included creating schools to teach Lunarian culture and language, as well as performing brain surgery from Lunarian Cloud Ships. As this campaign occurred, Luna approached The D-Day Knight, who transformed into a black mass in grief over the death of Alice Avenue, with hopes of swaying him to the Lunarian side. After delivering a monologue that he was the prince of their prophecy, he promptly performed the "Alcatraz Checkmate" which created a substance known as Alcatraz Matter which spread across the Earth. The substance targeted Lunarians and destroyed them and their cloud ships, ending the war and restoring language soon after. The Alcatraz Matter presumably targeted and killed Luna as well in the process.
